Mini Campaign on homelessness.

In the hustle and bustle of our modern lives, it’s all too common to witness people sleeping on the streets and looking the other way, immersed in our own worlds. Whether it’s because of discomfort, indifference, or the distractions of our smartphones, our tendency to speed-walk past individuals experiencing homelessness reflects a wider societal issue.
In India, a number of incidents and circumstances have led to homelessness or population displacement. It’s crucial to remember that homelessness is frequently a complicated problem affected by a range of political, social, and economic variables. This campaign aims the events like the G20 Summit 2023 held in Delhi, which led to the demolition of thousands of houses and made people homeless on the name of city beautification. Those people were forced to leave their place and told not to come out of the green sheet because government was not able to manage any alternative shelter or solution. Their voices have been suppressed by the media and government during and after the event, as if they did not exist. It shows the pressing need for governments and planners to adopt holistic approaches to urban development that consider the diverse needs of all residents.
Governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and community groups around the world can work together to combat homelessness through various programs and initiatives. These may include shelters, transitional housing, outreach services, and housing-first approaches, which can prevent the controversies and crises of homelessness while organising small or big events like the G20 Summit.
